Video import tool won't run w/my Sony Handycam (thinks it's a disk, not a DV cam)
Hi all. I tried searching and didn't see an answer to this specific
question....
Vista recognizes my Sony Handycam, but it thinks it is a removable disk
drive and not a video camera. As such, I can run the picutre import
tool, but not the video import tool. It's a DCR-SR42 (records to a hard
drive).
I can copy videos to my hard drive no problem, but I want to run the
video import tool so that I can conver them to variable bitrate files
which are much smaller.
I can use WMM to conver the files one at a time, but converting 100s of
files will take forever. Anyone know how to batch conver these files or
better yet, get Vista to recognize my DV camera for what it is rather
than just a disk drive?
