Metadata Format for Music Files
I've been moving my music files onto my new computer. Of course, these older
files don't have any metadata attached to them (Artists, Album, Title, etc.).
I realize that I'm able to manually alter these fields with the the Details
Pane in Windows Explorer or through Windows Media Player.

However, I'd rather write a script to do most of the work for me. All my
filenames are in the format "ArtistName - SongTitle.mp3", so if I knew the
_exact_ format the metadata is stored in and where it is stored, I'd be able
to write the script. Has this information been released? If so, could I be
provided with a link? All my searches have turned up dry thus far.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Metadata Format for Music Files

I believe MusicBrainz (?) already does this for you.
Otherwise, MSDN would be your first stop. =)
