Inporting Video

A rookie question:
I have a Canon MV-920 and a Dell Dimension /Vista Home Premium /e4300/1gb (
No firewire). I want to transfer from my DVtapes to to the machine. I am not
sure if I need a firewire card; if a firewire card is available on pciExpress
( no PCI slots are free);; or if Vista Moviemaker can help import.

All advice will be gratefully accepted.
