eoscamcorders and vista compatibility

Hi, I am in the process of purchasing a Camcorder for my husband this
Xmas. As I was finalizing my decision on which one to purchase I
noticed that in the Specs that most newer camcorders are not Vista
compatible. Here's my dilemma. We will be traveling to Europe and we
always take our laptop which has the Vista OS on it in which we use to
view our pics and short videos taken with our Canon Powershot sd750
didital camera. So how can I view our videos on our laptop if the
camcorder is not Vista compatible. Any help would be great!
