Movie Maker Slide Show photos become cropped when burned to a DVD

I created a photo slide show using Windows Movie Maker, then burned the
project to a DVD. The photos looked perfect in the Movie Maker preview window
but when I played the DVD I burned, the photos were all cropped - top and
bottom cut off. I lost a lot of feet and heads. I tried burning 16:9 and 4:3
DVD's and playing them back in both display formats. Nothing worked. Is there
any way to burn a DVD with the resulting photos looking like the Movie Maker
preview window, ie, no unwanted photo cropping in the creation of the DVD?
