64bit to 32bit
I purchased my computer with a Vista Ultimate operating system, but made the
mistake of getting the 64bit version. The reason it was a mistake was the
compatability issues I've been having. First my video camera's software is
not compatible and then I purchased a MIDI controller that it turns out is
not compatible with the 64bit system.
My question is, can I some how switch my system to a 32bit setting or do I
have to buy a new 32bit operating system?

Re: 64bit to 32bit
Only retail Vista Ultimate ships with both 32 and 64-bit dvd's. If your
system was pre-installed it most likely is OEM and you would have to purchas
e anew system. Then format and reinstall.

Purchase a new system?

It would probably be easier to purchase a new copy of Windows (even an
upgrade should do the trick, I believe)

You'll have to purchase a 32-Bit version of Windows, but do not go for
an "upgrade". You can't downgrade from 64-Bit to 32-Bit for the same
reasons you can't upgrade from 32-Bit to 64-Bit.

But before you commit to a new Windows, have you checked the
manufacturers websites for you Video Camera and MIDI controller for
64-Bit updates to their software and drivers?
