Windows Media Center crashes

Hi, It's a while I have been using windows media center. At the beginning,
everything used to be nice and problem-free but all of a sudden my computer
restarts when I want to play a DVD. The screen goes blank for a moment and my
computer reboots. sometimes , it doesn't restart all the way, but a fussilade
of frozen, blank screen follows and I get the message " the display driver
has stopped working and recovered". Any idea what's wrong? I have been
searching literally thousands of forums with no coherent answer. Thanks for
your help in advance.

What is your video adapter?

Have you downloaded and installed (taking care to follow the installation
directions) the latest Vista video adapter drivers?
