Why can't I remove music and files from WMP11?

I recently purchased a pc with Windows Vista and the WMP11. I was able to
search for music in folders etc, but now it won't save music I play with WMP
nor will it let me delete any. I recently deleted music from the folder I
save it in and although WMP recognizes it's not there, it won't remove it
from the player. I tried going online to redownload WMP11 so I could repair
any damage, but the version I have is more recent then the file I downloaded.
So, therefore it won't let me do it. What do you I do to fix this? Is
there a setting or something, cuz it's not letting me do anything. I can't
delete anything, nor can I search for new music, cuz it won't add it. Please
help!!!

Try renaming the folder that your library database files are in following
the instructions at http://www.zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary.
