Vista 64 bit and class compliant drivers?

I am building a high end recording computer with Vista 64bit in mind.Many
of the recording interface manufacturers have written drivers for Win XP64bit
to be used with 64 bit recording software. Most of these same manufacturers
have not yet written Vista 64 bit drivers. Can I use the XP64bit drivers
successfully on Vista 64? Or do I specifically need Vista 64bit drivers?
Also will vista automatically recognize usb class compliant midi devices
such as midi controllers that were recognized automatically by the XP OS?

I don't know about the MIDI question but if you're doing audio in Vista and
not using signed drivers you may end up having problems. As part of the DRM
built into Vista, audio quality may be limited or audio may not work at all
with unsigned Vista drivers.

I suggest contacting the specific software providers you're referring to.
