Problems watching DVD with Nero

I loaded Nero 7 premium last night, an upgrade from Nero 6.

I tried to watch a DVD but as soon as I selected a DVD to watch it BSOD'ed

I tried again, using the DVD reader, then from the hard disk, but it did the
same. SO I tried PowerDVD, a recent version, and that crashed. Tried VideoLAN
and that crashed too.

The only way I could watch the DVD was in Media Player.

Can anyone shed light on what's happening? Nero 7 should be happy with
vista. WMP 10 reads them fine, so it's not a corrupted file
