Vista media centre defaults to US (I live in UK)

When I first installed Vista (clean install) (64 bit rtm) all the links in
media centre (online media) were UK specific (BBC, ITV etc). I managed to
kill the OS by mistake & had to reinstall.
I did an upgrade install to keep all my settings, the only thing is all my
media centre links are now US specific (NPR, FOX etc) I have checked the OS
and everything else has defaulted to UK the pc is fully set up to UK and even
the TV tuner in media centre defaults to UK on setup.

When you reinstalled, you may have missed the regional settings option, which
defaults to US.

Go to the control panel/regional and language options. Choose the location
tab and set it for the country of your choice.

No the whole OS is set up for UK (on upgrade you are not asked for and
region settings, as these are set up on clean install

I am actually looking for a similar solution as I installed my Vista Home
Premium (32-bit) in the US but would like to access the German Online Media
services. There is an entry at
http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/thread/173142.aspx which describes the
issue...
Looks like this is a known bug, there is also a workaround which didn't work
for me but maybe it works for you.
