After making the registry change you should be able to access and play your
DVDs through
the DVD Library menu which will have appeared on the TV+Movies nav strip.
You do not play them through the Pictures+Video menus.
Indeed it is useful to keep all your DVD rips under one parent folder such
as DVDs
and set it as a hidden folder, then it will not appear as a bunch of folders
under Videos
but can still be accessed through the DVD Library tile.
