RE: Remote control
What have you tried so far? Please post some additional info (ie..computer
model, type of TV Card, etc.). Try unpluging the reciever from the USB port,
shut down the computer, and then restart. Once the computer is back on plug
the reciever into the USB port and see if Vista detects it. You may also need
to update some drivers.

RE: Remote control
I have the same problem. I started with a fresh PC. Installed the Home
Premium. Then connected a brand new Microsoft Remote Control, but nothing
happens.. The RC and the IR are both alive....
Any suggestions...?

RE: Remote control
I have a Dell.
Uses Vista Home Premium 64bits.
When I go in to the "Control Panel" and "Device Manager" I can see the IR
installed ("eHome infrared....."-something).
No - I haven't looked for any drivers. There were no drivers in the
remote-control-package. Any suggestions...?

RE: Remote control
I have a Comcast digital cable and built-in cable receiver in my PC (Gateway
GT5014) now. This was upgraded from a standard cable setup last week. I am
now having the same issue with the remote I received with the Motorola
DCT700/US cable set top box. My old standard cable connection (before
digital) worked fine, and I could just connect the cable signal direct to the
back of the computer and use the Gateway remote that came with the computer.
Windows Media Center worked fine also, and the Gateway remote with the IR
device worked fine.
When I went to re-set up the Media Center cable channels via the Media
Center software wizard, it locked up on not being able to locate the 'IR
control cable'. After multiple calls to my cable company (Comcast was
clueless...or just plain LAZY), to my cable set-top box provider (Motorola,
who was also CLUELESS and just told me to get on Comcast's a** about it), I
found out my IR driver was out of date. After updating, I could now get the
Media Center to configure the remote...but now the remote is supposedly
recognized, but doesn't work when I try to enter TV channels. GRRR!
