Movie maker doesn't load in Vista Buisness
Hello,
When lauching movie maker in Vista Buisness , on a Acer LapTop it won't
load.
System message says :
"Windows Movie Maker cannot start because your video card does not support
the required level of hardware acceleration or hardware acceleration is not
available."
The Vista help system doen't help (not a surprise).
The OS run perfectly (celeron 1.6 ram 1024 HD 100go Vid. 64Mo)
Aero is not active (graphic chip not compatible ? I did test different
tweaks): does Movie Maker needs Aero ?
If not what are the minimum requirements needed by Movie Maker to run ?
Thanks for the help,
Samuel Austin

What kind of graphics card are you using? It also could be that your graphics
card is integrated and not dedicated.

Re: Movie maker doesn't load in Vista Buisness
Hello !
True, it's a integrated chip detected as SIS mirage
graphic by Vista (driver MS XDDM).
Compatible directx 9C, 3D capable, hardware accelleration maximum.
Something amazing is that I can launch Movie Maker 2.1 from the
windows_old/programs files directory created by the Vista when upgrading
from XP Pro...
I find some other people over the InterNet having the same problem but with
some beta release around november and december. No suite.
I'm using the official buisness edition 6000.
I'm going to test if Movie Maker need aero on an other pc. If true... it's
some sort of a bad thing...
Regards, and thx for your help,
Samuel

Re: Movie maker doesn't load in Vista Buisness
I was suggesting that you copy the 2.1 file from the old programs directory
to a Vista directory and then try to run it.

Re: Movie maker doesn't load in Vista Buisness
Movie Maker requires an Aero compatible card. I don't think it uses Aero
exactly, but it uses the GPU to do some stuff, and in order to do that the
GPU needs to be good enough to run Aero.
