Why does Movie Maker crash when you try to edit a recording from W

If you record a TV show with Windows Media Center (Vista Ultimate) and import
it into Movie Maker 6.0 then drag it to the timeline the program crashes
EVERY TIME.

This is worse than any other version of Movie Maker I've tried.

At least the older versons only crashed occasionally.

I tried all the usual suggestions like disabling all the codecs on the
compatibility screen. No difference.

I've not run into the problem.... running Ultimate and using recorded TV
shows from the Media Center.
