windows remembering the last folder you were in?!?

Hello, the other day i was saving pictures from my webpage that i have setup
to my pc, they are mostly JPEG's and some Bitmap files. I had created a
folder called swimming for my kids, and every time i saved a file or "save
picture as" on a pic it would remember the folder i was saving it to, but
today that all changed! :0( i have go to into 5 different folders to get to
the correct one to save it in, and frankly its a hastle. Its as if windows
doesnt remember the last folder i was in when i was saving the pics. I don't
know if it is some setting i played around with but i would like to know how
to change that back. It must be some setting i changed please help! thx

if you went to some other folder and shut the program down with that folder in focus it got changed.
simply run the program again, go to the desired folder and with that folder in focus, shut the program down.

It doesn't seem to work that way with 'Save Picture As'. See my response to
zues (think he meant "zeus"?) in a later thread.
