Vista locks up if I play any WMV

Any wmv file at all will cause the entire system to lock up. Mouse pointer
stops responding and all. An AVI will play just fine. I have the latest
drivers for my video card (6600GT). Any idea what I can try?

I had the same problem with my 6600GT when I downloaded drivers from
Nvidia's site to use with RC1. When I switched to RC2, I just used the
drivers which came with Vista, and everything plays fine.
Haven't tried RTM yet.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried both the driver that comes with Vista
(RTM) and the driver from Nvidia, with the same result.

Is anyone else running Vista RTM on a 6600GT?

I have the same problem with a 6200GT card. Very strange as it was fine for a
while then just shut everything down. I looked and there's no rollback
possible (grayed out) so I guess I'll try uninstalling and let Vista select
something...

Will let you know what I find out...
