Video part in mediacenter vista crashes!

I got windows vista ultimate final. After i Installed nero it started crashing when i try to watch videoclips (avi.mpg etc). I renamed the nvvideo.ax like it said here so the com surrogate stopped crashing. But when there is allot of videofiles mediacenter crashes. Anyone know how to fix this?

I had the same problem. The Nero installation disabled some of the codecs
or plug-ins on which the media player depends. I was able to fix it by
opening the medial player options and re-enabling the codecs. You'll find
the spot at /tools/options/the DVD tab/advanced. Some of the codecs will be
listed as disabled. If you click on them you can re-enable them. HTH & all

Hmm i was in there, but the only settings there are is the ac3 sound settings, nothing with codecs. You ment windows media player? Not nero? Because i dont got nero mediaplayer installed only the burning program.

I found a xvid codec that stop the crashing. Works fine for now any ways. "http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml". Use that one. FFdshow works very poorly and does not stop the crashed, my xvid movies lags when i use that codec.
