How to make jpeg pix smaller - size of file

I have trying to email some pix but there are large - like 3.59MB how do I
make them smaller - such as 244KB so that I can send more than one pix at a
time?

In Windows Photo Gallery, select the files, click on Email..
select a smaller size..

or get IrfanView

resize the photos to a smaller size, then attach to an email
