Movie Maker MPG import problem

Movie Maker claims to support MPG. I already had problems playing my MPG
files from video camera in Media Player on Vista and had downloaded the
required codecs to address this. The files now play in Media Player and show
as recognised movie files in their folders.

However, when I import them to Movie Maker, they are listed as Audio files
and only play as such.

All the documentation in help files etc provides no assistance, as MPG files
are listed amongst the supported file types.

I should also add that in the imported files list, they show as MPG (with the
little movie strip icon), but on Properties list as Audio files

The same. Tried installing additional codecs - no effect. Will be waiting
for the Windows patch ;-(

Movie Maker has issues with MPEG files.

thx alot 4 ur help, I converted the MPG files 2 VOB then added it 2
movie maker, that turned them into WMV, thanks 4 ur help again
