Programs not playing certain WAV files.

Hello,

Im having a strange issue that im not sure how to remedy. Certain programs
that I use that play sounds for various things arent working properly. The
main one that does this is AIM. When an even occurs that requires one of its
sounds to play, such as a user signing on, it doesnt play the sound for me,
or any of the sounds that were installed with the program.

Now, if I try to open the sounds with something like winamp it plays
completely fine, and if I change the sound to one of the sounds in
C:\Windows\Media all of them play for me, but it wont play any of the default
sounds set for AIM, or any of the SuperBuddy sounds.

Another program which was doing this was one called Eyeball Chat, the same
problem occurs with that.

I've tried running the programs as administrator and it doesnt change
anything, its not a huge issue with Eyeball Chat because I just set it to
play some windows sounds, but the sounds not working in AIM is kind of a pain.
