Stuttering video or no video using media player
The first frame repeatedly displays while the sound continues normally. The
video doesn't progress....only the first frame is flashed. These videos are
mostly avi files and were saved in 32 bit xp. I'm using 64 bit vista.
Pictures do not display in the gallery either. Double clicking a pic brings
up a black area where the pic should be. Dvd movies do not display in media
player but will function normally using media center. I've installed 64 bit
drivers for all the components I'm using and haven't downloaded any third
party software or drivers yet. I'm running vista and nothing else (this is a
new installation....finally got it loaded last night) Does anyone else have
this problem or a solution?

Many 64 bit drivers are notorious for being very buggy which is why
most people don't use 64 bit anything unless they absolutely have to.
Its simply too early. If you must be on the cutting edge you must
accept things are less stable. Developers will work on and optimize 32
bit drivers first. Sorry, but that's just how it is.

You're also mixing apples and oranges. When you're talking about a
video or still images the number of bits means the file's color depth.
When you are talking 32 bit verse 64 bits in a operating system that
refers to how big a gulp of code the CPU can handle at one time. Two
totally different animals.
