Windows Movie Maker -

I imported videos and pictures from my digital cam corder into Windows Movie
Maker after saving them in my documents. These videos were saved in as .MOD
format (whatever that is). NOW- heres the kicker- weeks ago when doing this i
was on vista basic and after importing I was able to hear and see videos i
uploaded to it perfectly. After recently changing to Vista Premium this is
the first time ive tried to use windows movie maker and i can hear the audio
from the video perfectly but all it shows is a green screen. No video. Files
are showing up was write protected and i cannot seem to save them into any
other format. ANY IDEAS? Because I am fresh out of them and out of patience.

MOD is MPEG2. It sounds like between the two time periods you installed or
uninstalled a third party tool that touched the MPEG2 decoders on the
system. What did you install/uninstall?
