Windows Movie Maker - Won't Publish due to Data Execution Preventi

I use Windows Movie Maker Version 6.0.6.000.16386 My operating system is
Windows Vista Home Premium.

I am trying to publish a movie with Movie Maker, but the Data Execution
Prevention (DEP) activates and stops Movie Maker from publishing the movie.
I tried to turn off the DEP in the advanced settings for Movie Maker in my
system properties, like the windows help and support suggested, but I got a
message that said: "This program must run with data execution protection
(DEP) enabled. You cannot turn off DEP for this program."

I would like to be able to publish my videos. Any help would be appreciated!

What file format is the input file in?
This sounds like you may have an older version of a third party codec
installed, and that old codec is running afoul of DEP. Current versions of
that codec should not have that problem.

What file format is the input file in? That will lead to the next question.

I am also having this issue. I was making a movie, so the input files are
..wmv and .mp3

Does this happen if you only use WMV *or* MP3? I'm interested in the least
amount of factors that cause this issue to happen - if you're using two file
types that will likely only confuse things.

Is this 32bit Vista?

You have to uninstall that last version of Adobe you installed to get
windows movie maker to work. This worked for me.
