Importing e-mails and contacts from Outlook 2003 to Windows Mail

When I try to use the import function in Windows mail and import from Outlook
or Outlook Express I get an error message re. MAPI server.

Does Windows Mail not have the facility to import from Outlook ?

You can only directly import from Outlook, if Outlook is installed on the
Vista computer.
You can export the Outlook info into Outlook Express format.

To import from OE, copy the .dbx and .wab files to a temporary folder on the
Vista computer.
Open WM, and import messages from the .dbx files, and contacts from the .wab
file.
