Can't receive e mails
Using an imap server, imap.ucd.ie, and I have all the necessary details, such
as the numbers for incoming and outgoing mail. But I can't receive mail. I
have hundreds of messages on my e mail server so should htey be syncing to
windows mail? I've tried e mailing myself from a different address and I can
get the message on the server (UCD mail) but not on windows mail, even though
i can send to the other address without a problem

I'm using bitdefender v10, could that be the problem?

What can I try to fix this?

Re: Can't receive e mails
What happens when you try to receive, any error message? If so,
right-click on the error message, copy, and paste it into a reply here.

Re: Can't receive e mails
Which antivirus are you running?
McAfee and Norton antivirus are not compatible with Windows Mail,
and should be uninstalled. Replace with a compatible antivirus such as
the free version of Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

I'm using bitdefender, is that compatible? Thats a bit ridiculous that the
two biggest internet security programs aren't compatible

Re: Can't receive e mails
With no error message, troubleshooting becomes more difficult.
I'll let someone with IMAP experience jump in here. I've never
had an IMAP account. Do you have any POP accounts you can try?

Re: Can't receive e mails
Yep, I forwarded my Imap stuff to a gmail account and used that with windows
mail, bit of a long way round but it works perfectly. Thanks for your help,

Re: Can't receive e mails
Glad that POP workaround did the trick for you.
Still, it is a darn shame that IMAP did not work.
