Are you able to send but not receive email?
Recently I have been unable to send emails but receiving has been unaffected.
I am currently using Microsoft Mail on Windows Vista. I have resolved this
in the following way:-

Tools >Accounts >Mail >Properties

1. Servers Tab - Under Outgoing Mail Server "my server requires
authentication" should be ticked.

2. Advanced Tab - make sure Outgoing mail (SMTP) reads 587 and Incoming mail
(POP3) reads 110. Tick the box under deliver to indicate "leave a copy of
messages on server".

Hope this is of use to some of you?

Sarah, that only works for your email provider, not all.
Please state who your email provider is, so that other users of the same
servers may benefit.
