receiving mail

I know this has been adressed over and over, but I can't seem to be able to
receive mail. My error message is :Message number 1647 could not be
retrieved. Account: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com (1)', Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com',
Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR problem retrieving message.', Port:
110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800420CD

Everything is correct as far as my server info. Any help would be
appreciated.

Have you seen this?

I know it says Outlook Express but it might be worth a look.

Hi Bev,

Take a look at this link for Yahoo to see if it may help. It looks
like you need to change your port number to 995 instead of 110 in your
email account properties.

Here's a excerpt:

- Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port:

- Account Name/Login Name: your Yahoo! ID (your email address
*without* the "@yahoo.com")

Thanks Julian...I did see that thread and it didn't exactly address the
problem I am having. I am not able to receive any emails before it comes up
with my error message. Some of the messages are very small, so it would be
different from this. Any other ideas??? Thanks.

Bev, if it still doesn't work after making the server port corrections,
log in to that mail account via your web browser (http://mail.yahoo.com).
You may be able to spot an unusual message such as one having a very large
attachment. If so delete that message.
