Sending Attachments & the Disappearing Windows Mail (& now Live Ma

Created a new message - clicked on Attach & whoosh WIndows Mail (& now Live
Mail) both close down and dissappear off the desktop - is this ever
frustrating.
Anyone else?

By any chance are you running one of the non-compatible
antivirus programs, McAfee or Norton?

Deleted Norton on day 1 (last Thursday)

Hopefully by "deleted" you mean you used the uninstall option.
Even the uninstall utility sometimes leaves detrimental debris
behind, which is why Symantec makes a special removal tool
available for download from their website.

Yes used the removal tool - but that didn't help the disappearing for Mail or
Live Mail after clicking on attach (or using the Insert Menu alternative) -
as an aside the disappearing act is also in Windows Media Player when I
attempt to Open any file - whoosh & where did WMP go to?

Solved the problem as follows:
In IE7/Tools/Internet Options/Advanced (at the bottom clicked on Reset) &
reset all the settings - restarted IE7.

Now Windows mail "Attach" works fine
WMP Open File works fine
IE7 Downloading a File/Save

Obviously the "browsing" technique as it is in XP is also in Vista and thus
it is essentilal that IE operates correctly to enable other Programs
functionality to operate.
