It would have been helpful if you had not obliterated the actual server name.
With this limited amount of information, the only advice I have is to uninstall
McAfee or Norton antivirus, if you are running them. For more on this, see

I had similar problem after I've downloaded AVG antivirus software WITHOUT
uninstalling McAfee COMPLETELY.
Also, try to make sure your OUTGOING server is specified properly

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Beside that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail.

Re: Problem Sending mails in Windows Mail having Vista: 0x800CCC0F
All I can say is if this is true, HP has trully screwed up! Since it came
pre-installed with my new Pavillion Media Ctr. PC. m7750n.
Of course, neither my Vonage phones or E-mail have worked consistently either.

Re: Problem Sending mails in Windows Mail having Vista: 0x800CCC0F
I have a similar problem as Henk except Windows Mail has worked fine for
months until today. I get the same error message but it appears to be on
email messages that are greater than 100 characters or so long. Short
messages seem to get through ok. Has anyone seen this? I am using Avast!
anti-virus software but when I turn this off the problem persists.

Re: Problem Sending mails in Windows Mail having Vista: 0x800CCC0F
Haven't seen this particular problem before, especially with Avast.
Unless someone comes up with a definitive solution, you may want to
upgrade to Windows Live Mail:
