Hot Links in Windows Mail

I have Vista Ultimate. Since a recent update the hot links in Windows Mail
are broken. Says "Application Not Found" clicking on any link in an email
message. I can not find a security setting that is blocking this. Any
assistance??

Start | Default Programs
Make sure Internet Explorer has all of its defaults.
