Re: incoming mail wont go to folder

Hi iross,

You need to set up a message rule.

1. Click on Tools (In Windows Mail)
2. Click on Message Rules > Mail.
3. Click New button.
4. For option #1 area
A) Check on the area you want Windows Mail to look for keywords
B) Click on the Option #3 area on the underlined blue word and type the
keyword that you want Windows Mail to look for. EX: The senders name,
e-mail address, subject, etc.
C) Click Add and OK
5. In Option #2 area
A) Check "Move it to the specified folder"
B) In Option #3 area click on the underlined in blue for Move to and
select your mail folder.
C) Click OK
6. Click OK to finalize it

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: incoming mail wont go to folder
I tried this and it doesn't work. I've set my mail so I have to manually
receive it. After 50 I just stop the incoming mail to see if the rules have
worked -- NO they haven't. There is an apply button, so I've been going
through that step to apply the message to a certain folder. NO that doesn't
work.

Re: incoming mail wont go to folder
Exactly what are you trying to do?
Click on one of the rules, highlight the text in the description box, and
copy (hit Ctrl-C)

Respond to this message, and paste (Ctrl-V) the text into the message.
You can replace any actual email address with x's, if you want.

Here's one of my rules...

Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the From line contains 'Fidelity.Investments.email@FIDELITY.COM' or
'Fidelity'
Move it to the Fidelity folder

In addition to the reply Dave posted, it helps if each one of your
message rules is terminated by:
Stop processing more rules.
