Outlook 2007 incoming error 0x800CCC0F
Without Office 2007 Enterprise installed Win Mail works fine and brings in my
email from my ISP.
When I install Office 2007 Enterprise, both Win Mail and Outlook 2007 stop
brining in email, even though I can send email. The full error message is:
Task ‘pop.tds.net – Receiving Reported error (0x800CCC0F): The connection to
the server was interrupted. If this program continues, contact your server
administrator or internet service provider (ISP).’
I have contacted the ISP, and Norton 360. No problem can be found on either
of those places.
When I un-install Office 2007, then Windows Mail starts working with the ISP
again. So my settings are correct for the ISP. When I re-installed Office
2007, guess what, ... the 0x800CCC0F message comes back on both the Outlook
and the Windows Mail program.
Any ideas for next steps, or advanced settings to try?

Try uninstalling Norton 360.

Re: Outlook 2007 incoming error 0x800CCC0F
I've been that route before. it is not one I want to repeat. I have turned
off the firewall, and email scanning - which had no effect on the problem in
either outlook or Win/Mail. Norton is not easy to remove (based on history)
- completely! And cleaning up the spyware and virus's after being
un-protected even a short time is no fun either.

Re: Outlook 2007 incoming error 0x800CCC0F
Rich,
Download AVG anti virus. http://free.grisoft.com Disconnect from the
internet. Uninstall Norton 360 turn on the Vista Firewall. Install AVG.
Connect to the internet. Update AVG. Test to see if your mail programs work.
If they work (they will), you will have isolated the problem

Re: Outlook 2007 incoming error 0x800CCC0F
Rich
Disabling Norton will not do it. You need to completely uninstall it as per their uninstall tool available from the Symantec site.
Norton is the cause of your issue. Install a free AV like Avast,AVG,etc without the email scanning option. They will do a better job than Norton

Re: Outlook 2007 incoming error 0x800CCC0F
To fix this problem for me, all I did was go to the E-mail Accounts
under Tools, select my affected email account, and clicked change;
clicked on more settings, and Advanced tab, and clicked the checkbox
for "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)". Immediately
I got all the mail that would not come in before.
