Cannot send emails from pop3 account

Please help I cannot send mails via micrsoftmail using vista ( new laptop). I
recieve the following error

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'wed', Account:
'pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 530, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

If anyone can shed some light would be much appriciated

Yahoo now uses the following servers...

Incoming Mail Server (POP3): mail.btinternet.com
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.btinternet.com
using SMTP port 587

I have been trying to get help now for one week on the same issue.
If any one can tell me why I can this message.
some error accured while processing the request task......

The host 'pop3' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the
server name correctly.

I note you have asked a few times before and have been given assistance

Your "Server: 'pop3' " is incorrect.

You need to ask your Internet Service Porvider for the correct information.

It is highly likely to have been included in the documentation that you
will have received received from the ISP.

If you are too shy or otherwise unable to contact your ISP, or even unable
to browse their web site support pages to access the information,
tell us who your ISP is and we may be able to find out for you.

Who is your ISP?

hi hope this may help i also had trouble sending and rec mail
so will try to talk you what i did.
you will need your pop server name and smtp server name.

mine are pop.nltworld.com
smtp.nltworld.com
these go in your servers box tab and include your username and password.

leave log on using secure password.

go to adavanced tab,making sure your boxes are unchecked

Tried it without the smtp text also

The pop server is working at "pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk" for incoming mail but
not for pop.mail.btinternet

Make sure that
"This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" is not checked."
(the message suggests that yours is ticked)

Tools > Accounts > your email > Properties > Advanced

AND the SMTP server reads "mail.btinternet.com"

The host name 'smtp.mail.btinternet.com' does not exist.
