Ok,
I sure will Wayne. If you don't want to reinstall, just post here for
each problem. Someone else or I may be able to help you with them.

Re: Windows Mail error messages won't quit.
Brink. I'm back. Tried your link for arrow fix. My problem was a white folder
which needed Version 1:0 or so I'm guessing. Only Version 1:3 (for a black
folder) was on your link, so I said " what the hell" and tried it. Now my
white folders are gone but the arrows are back. Where is V 1:0 to be found?
Will it get rid of the arrows? Thanks, Wayne. PS - My notification is back.

Hi Wayne,
Glad to here your notification is back. Next (haha). I guess I'm a
little loss or that it's 3:50 AM (haha), what do you mean by black
folder? V 1:3 should do it for you. You have the arrows back, but does
it show the proper Icon with it? Also, did you pick the "No Arrow"
option to remove the arrows once they were back?

We'll get there,
Shawn

Re: Windows Mail error messages won't quit.
Brink. Correction. I meant "black box" , not "folder". Your link refers to
this black box and gives 1:3 as the fix. It gives 1:0 as another fix for the
white folder glitch (or so it seems) but this fix - 1:0 - is not on your
link. The white folder and black box issues are a running issue in "Geek" .
They are 2 seperate issues with 2 different fixes. I'm confused. I need this
alternate fix - 1:0 - for a stupid arrow problem. Thanks, Wayne.

A couple of years ago Dell tried to renege on the warranty coverage
I had on a Dell laptop. I filed official complaints with the State Attorney
General and the Better Business Bureau. Dell came around to see
things my way.

Re: Windows Mail error messages won't quit.
Brink,
Finally got rid of the arrows with your Frameworkx fix. Don't quite know
how as I was juggling advice from 3 different sources with 3 different fixes.
It got confusing.
Yours was the answer. One thing - can I disable or delete this fix now
that I don't need it? Thanks, Wayne

Re: Windows Mail error messages won't quit.
Gary,
Thanks for the tidbit about Dell and your laptop. I'll file it in away.
BestBuy was just in the news for doing something. Bait and switch I believe.
No reply necessary.
Thanks for your time, Wayne.

Great news Wayne,
Yes, you can uninstall Frameworkx. It will not undo the fix. Did you
get your other problems resolved yet?

Re: Windows Mail error messages won't quit.
Brink,
I will uninstall. Will the new Windows Mail correct the numerous problems
everyone seems to be having or will they all carry over?
The error messages; stuck mail; can't send/receive; etc.
And hopefully adding a contact address to your message will be one click
like Hotmail and not 10 clicks.
-- As for my other probs. It's 3 down and 25 to go. My settings are staying
set; Avast is much nicer than McFee or AVG (It really stops viruses). AVG
didn't.
And I set System Restore to 10GB max; down from 35GB.
One other odd thing I've encountered quite a few times - when visiting what
I know to be Microsoft sites, they will not let me out. The back button is
useless so I have to press close and return to the desktop. In the middle of
unfinished work!
I thought only unscrupulous webpage designers used that ploy. But
Microsoft?
Your comments or another group to post this Q in. Thanks, Wayne

Hi,
I sure hope the new Windows Live mail will. Glad you like Avast to.
Personally, I like how customizable it is on top of how well it works.
For the Microsoft website, it's most likely a security feature.
They'll use a session cookie or whatever and you'll get a time out error
on the webpage when you try to leave (backward or forward) the current
page. It's normal. Just keep posting the problems until we get them
knocked out (haha).
Regards,
Shawn
