Contact the people who you pay for access to the internet, your ISP, they
will give you the settings, or visit their website?

Re: New mail member.
I am unable to get to to work as well. I have broadband and don't pay for an
isp, so I don't know how I'd get that information. I also get the pop 3
error, and any contact link I click on on any website takes me to the
nonworking windows mail. Can I import my yahoo account into windows mail? I
have an msn account as well, but I'm guessing that I'll need to upgrade to a
paid account to get it to work here. Gotta love Microsoft, eh?
Theorhetically speaking, how would I import my yahoo account, and if that's
impossible, how do I import the MSN account. There's no set up, and the
"import wizard" doesn't do anything.
Thanks, McSew

An "ISP" is an Internet Service Provider. If you have Internet access,
you have an ISP. Examples for broadband providers in the United States
are Comcast (cable) and AT&T/Yahoo (DSL).
So go to your ISP's website and there will be instructions for how to
set up your email.
As for the Yahoo account - if you are in the US and have the free
version of Yahoo (as opposed to the paid-for Premium), it is not
supported in Windows Mail.

Just get yourself a Gmail account and set yourself free of limitations
on how and where you can access your mail.

Re: New mail member.
If you have broadband, then you have an ISP... find out if they offer email.
Yahoo and MSN are both likely just web email accounts, and are not supported
in Windows Mail, which only supports POP & IMAP.
You might try the Windows Live Mail Desktop if you want to access those
accounts.

Re: New mail member.
It appears you have web hosting and email via angelberryrealtors.com,
and also internet service through Crescent Broadband.
Which one of these two do you want to set up for Windows Mail?
Either way, you will need to contact the provider and get the
mail server information from them.

Re: New mail member.
To use a Yahoo account in Vista Windows Mail, if U.S based you need to sign
up for Yahoo! Mail Plus which will enable the ability to use pop3/smtp
servers which are required for Windows Mail.
To use an MSn com address you would need to have and retained a legacy pop3
account which are no longer avaialable.
- Note: there a few isolated cases where the latest(new) pop3 settings
for the legacy pop3 accounts work with some partnered http accounts that
were originally pop3 accounts and later converted to http. Imo, it's a short
term anomaly and not a long term benefit.

Re: New mail member.
The good news is that the OP should be able to use his MSN account
with the new Windows Live Mail to be released later this month.
