Emptying "Deleted Items" Folder

I am having trouble emptying my "Deleted Items" folder. When I select all the
messages and try to permanently delete them I get a message saying an "uknown
error has ocurred", and no messages are deleted. Help! It's starting to
frustrate me (a little).

Try deleting them one at a time?

While viewing the Deleted Items folder go to the Edit menu>Empty Deleted
Items Folder.

Do you have AV email scannning enabled?
