Import additional .dbx files into Windows Mail
I have windows mail set up and running on my Vista laptop. I had another
laptop crash, but I managed to salvage all the dbx files that were on a very
recent backup. They are now on a flash drive in a folder I named "Outlook
Express".

A few of these .dbx files have messages I must have. I can copy them into a
separate folder. Can I then somehow import them into my existing Windows
Mail? Won't "inbox.dbx" conflict? Maybe I can rename "inbox.dbx" on the
flash drive to "inbox-old.dbx"? And any other conflicts?

The method recommended in "HELP" is not possible since my old laptop is
kaput. Help, please. TIA, Paul

Windows Mail doesn't store messages in .dbx files. However, it can import
sufficiently complete sets of .dbx files, if they're all stored in the same
directory
on your main hard drive. It cannot import just one .dbx file at a time.

See if any of these sets of instructions are complete enough you can use
them:

See the section on importing into WinMail here: www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx
Without a 3rd party program (e.g. OEX), you cannot import an individual dbx
file into WinMail without having folders.dbx as well.
