I can send but not recieve!!!

I see that a lot of people have problems sending emails, well sending is no
problem, when I try to recieve there is a quick flash of the working screen
and then nothing!
Any help will be greatly apreciated..

my guess is that you have some incorrect info in the receive mail account/

pop.orange.fr and smtp.orange.fr works no problem with THUNDERBIRD and
INCREDIMAIL ( emission and reception ) and before VISTA -----98, ME and XP
no problem with Outlook Express or Outlook..

There is no error screen or error code ..

If your antivirus program is McAfee or Norton, uninstall, reboot,
then try WinMail again. If it works now, install a less disruptive antivirus
such as the free AVG or Avast. Whichever antivirus you decide on,
make sure its mail scanning option is disabled.

AntiVirus is Kaspersky 2007 VISTA, even with email scan disabled and again
opening windows mail and createing new accounts still will not recieve
emails! I can receive news from microsoft and orange no pb and I can still
send emails and news entrees.....

Tony, just a wild guess here :-)

Change the accounts server names to:
The address of the Orange POP mail server is: pop.orangehome.co.uk
The address of the Orange SMTP mail server is: smtp.orangehome.co.uk

Obviously if you do connect via the .fr server then try that also.
The address of the Orange POP mail server is: pop.orangehome.fr
The address of the Orange SMTP mail server is: smtp.orangehome.fr

thank you for your help, I think I will use something else and wait till
windows mail is a bit older hoping it will be easier to use with all types
of configurations rather than struggle between softwareand risque other
problems or losing emails ect...
