Can't Send Messages - SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!
I can't send messages. I have a new laptop (Toshiba Satellite, a month old,
with Vista). I haven't had a problem sending emails until this week. All of
the sudden Windows Mail just stopped letting me send emails. I have
bellsouth and the incoming and outgoing properties are correct, i
believe(mail.bellsouth.net). I did a system restore two days ago and it
fixed my problem. Lo and behold I wake up this morning and it will not work
again. Here is the message I recieve. It doesn't matter what email I send
it to. Please, Please Help!!!

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'JXXXXXX@aquinas-sta.org'. Subject 'test',
Account: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Server: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: SMTP,
Server Response: '550 relaying mail to aquinas-sta.org is not allowed', Port:
25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

I also have just begun having problems sending mail. I have been using
WINDOWS MAIL since purchasing my laptop w/Vista package back in Feb. Issue
has just begun today. I have confirmed that my email and comcast acct
settings are still correct.

Check under Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Servers and make sure you
check the box that indicates your outgoing server requires authentication.

Re: Can't Send Messages - SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!
I really appreciate all the problems everyone had with sending mail, so I had
a lot of suggestion on how to fix my problem.

I did not disable my McAfee Security Center. I tried it, but it did not work.
I ended up using Windows Help and Support and typed "why can't I send mail"

I clicked on Trouble Shooting Problems with Windows Mail and followed all
the directions and my problem was fixed. Under Settings and Log On using I
re-entered my e-mail address, eventhought there is a box that says "same as"

I re-abled my McAfree and tested it again, and it works now. I was in the
process of deleting my e-mail account shuting down and rebooting when I tried
this, and it worked. Good Luck!
