Windows Mail Set-up for Live
I can't seem to figure out how to set up Windows Mail for my windows live
account. What information do I need too set it up for my email account. I
have found some server info but it told me the server didn't exist. the info
i have is:
PoP3 Server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
SMTP Server: smtp.live.com (Port 587)
I have used this information exactly in the correct spots and i don't know
what I've done wrong, please help.

Thank you for your help. I have put in the information but now I get this
error message.
An unknown error has occurred. Protocol: SMTP, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No,
Error Number: 0x800C0148

I have the port set at 587 so I don't know why it says 0.

Still not configured correctly.

1. On Server tab, make sure "Outgoing Server: My server requires
authentication" is checked.

2. On Advanced tab, Outgoing mail server (SMTP) should be Port 587
(double-check this), Incoming mail server (POP3) should be Port 995, and
/both/ SSL options should be checked.

3. Also make certain that you disable email scanning by your anti-virus
application (and any anti-spam applications).

Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email

I have double checked everything and disabled my email scanning and I still
get the same message.

After working on the problem a bit I now have two error messages:

An unknown error has occurred. Protocol: SMTP, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No,
Error Number: 0x800C0148
An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'pop3.live.com', Server:
'pop3.live.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number:
0x800C0148
