Re: Attachments shown but can't be opened
Sorry for not reading your first post more closely. Is this a sudden, new
problem or an ongoing one? In other words, have you ever been able to open
attachments?

The above question notwithstanding:

1. Download the Norton Removal Tool, Saving it to your desktop. See link
here:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...05033108162039

[If in doubt, click on the "Norton 2009" link.]

2. Close all open applications (i.e., anything with an icon on your taskbar,
including Windows Mail).

3. Right-click on the file you saved in #1 above and select Run as
Administrator. Do not TOUCH your keyboard until the run completes, then
reboot.

4. Test opening attachments.

Re: Attachments shown but can't be opened
You should always post what the solution was for anyone else who might have
the same problem. Even if it is embarrasing.
I had this problem once and when you are in the inbox go to the menu bar
and click on the Tools, then Options. When Options window opens click on the
tab Security. There is a check box that says "Do not allow attachments to be
saved or opened that could potentially be a virus". You have to make sure
that the box is un-checked. That should allow you to see the attatchments
that are sent in the emails.
