Windows Mail Error Message
Does anyone know how to fix the following Windows Mail error message? I always get this message when I first open Windows Mail.

The host 'pophm.sympatico.ca' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'Bell', Server: 'pophm.sympatico.ca', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

Thanks

See:

Ensure that all the settings are as described at the page.

Has the account ever worked or is this a new development?

Re: Windows Mail Error Message
What caused you to " click 'send and receive' numerous times "?
When you clicked it the very first time, did you not see " Sending Mail
....... " at the bottom right corner ?
If " yes ", then click it many more times will not speed up the process.

Re: Windows Mail Error Message
I did this because along with the error message, I don't know if I have mail or not. I do see "Connecting" at the bottom right corner but that's it until the error message appears. I continue clicking 'send/receive' until the process is completely properly.

Re: Windows Mail Error Message
What error message ? You did not mention that. Copy and paste the entire
error message and post it.
" Connecting " ? What e-mail program you are using ? OE ? Outlook ?
Definitely not Windows Mail.
P.S. The computer can only do one thing at a time.... strange isn't it ?
When you are sending e-mail, it can't at the same time downloading in-coming
e-mails.
You have been giving one piece of info at a time. That won't help solving
your problem. Not that I am capable of doing so. I am just a regular user.
Any time you post a question, include you OS ( operating system ), SP level,
e-mail program .
