Re: Launching windows mail
No I hadn't tried that. It brings up wnmail.exe as a program. Properties
tells me it is in
C:\Program Files\Windows Mail

It is also shown as hidden but the tick box is grey and I can't untick it.
Very strange. (Folder Options View has Show Hidden Files is selected)

However.... right clicking it gives me the option to 'pin it to start menu'
so I now have a way to launch it and can also drag it onto the desktop as a
shortcut.....

Cheers Cal Bear! .... :-)

I would still need to find it in windows explorer to drag it into my startup
folder tho......

Re: Launching windows mail
If you go to the Securities tab of Properties and take ownership you
could probably remove the hidden property.

If you right click on the start orb and select Open all Users you can
copy the shortcut to the Startup folder. (After right clicking and selecting
Copy on the desktop icon, of course.)

May I ask why you want Windows Mail to automatically start at startup?

You should probably also go to Control Panel>Default Programs>Set default programs
Click Windows Mail and click Set this program as default. Then the E-mail entry in the
pinned area of the Start menu should open Windows Mail.

Can't find how to change the hidden property but I now have a shortcut on my
desktop and have pasted windows mail into my startup folder (it's just sheer
laziness really, I come home, turn on my laptop and by the time I get changed
my pc has fired up, my inbox is open and new mail has been received!)

Thanks for your help Cal Bear.. :-)

Re: Launching windows mail
You're welcome
Good to hear that you got it worked out
Very strange that the file is marked hidden...
If you would like to change the properties it is not that hard to do...
