Quick question... computer illiterate.... just went from Verizon to windows
mail... ALMOST without a hitch! (proud!). Question is.... when I click
Windows mail from my start menu, my entire email history pops up, with a
small sign in box. Hello? So that means anyone using my laptop can see my
emails? how to I close this page and prevent it from being opened without
Sing in?

I do get the sign in box.... on top of a list of my emails.....

RE: Privacy
Forget that question... soooooo had it with this!!! NOW the sign in box that
comes up in front of all of my emails, the one asking me my user name and
password?? Won't take my user name and password... so I guess it is a good
thing all of my emails are listed, even if all can see, cause i can at least
see them around the sign in box!!!!

How do i reverse this whole thing!!! I want to pretend I never did this!!! I
want to go back to using Verizon email. how do I get out of this mess called
Windows mail?????

Re: Privacy
Windows Mail has no password for privacy.
If others use your computer, give them their own user account to log into.

Re: Privacy
the small box asks for log in information with username and password. Then I
get error messages, something about pop3 or something... The only time this
box appears is after I click windows mail on my start menu.

Also, I cannot receive emails. I used someones email account and emailed
myself... didn't show up in windows mail OR verizon mail.

I still have my emails in my custom folders, but this process transferred
the standard email folder (inbox/drafts/sent) to windows mail.

Now what? I need to receive mails.

Also, login box aside, why does the windows mail listing show up as easily
as clicking windows mail on the start menu? With verizon mail, I have to
enter password...

Uh!!!!

Re: Privacy
Microsoft assumes that for privacy:
1) Each user will have their own computer, or, if a shared computer,
2) Each user will have their own Windows user login.

By default, a POP email client like Windows Mail will delete messages
from the server after they have been downloaded successfully.
If you don't like that default:
Go to Tools, Accounts, select your mail account, Properties, Advanced,
enable "Leave a copy of messages on server." Depending on how
much server space Verizon allots, you may want to select one or
both of the two associated 'remove' options.

Once messages are downloaded and removed from the server, it
is not feasible to return those messages to the server.

Do you get an error message when you try to send or receive? If so,
right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.
