saving email attachments
Can someone please help? When I try to save a email attachment I cannot
browse a specific location I am only allowed to save to D:\. Is this a Vista
bug or is there an incorrect setting I have somewhere??

Re: saving email attachments
Its probably Vista permissions being overly correct. Save first to D and
then copy elsewhere after that.

To everyone intrested: I called hp since that is the lap top i purchased
with Windows Vista at first they said they
would put me through a tech and they would resolve my issue of course for a
fee. when i was transfered to another
tech it turned out that they were not able to help me because Windows Vista
Mail is currently not working yet on all
computers they said it would take about 3 more weeks and it would be up and
running.

Re: saving email attachments
I'm not sure where one sets that.

You can go to a cmd prompt and type secpol and then play with that, if you
dare. <G>

That's all very interesting, but we don't know what your problem is.

If HP sold you a machine with Vista installed there is no good reason for
not giving you free help to get the machine working. If they won't, return
the machine and get a reputable one.

Re: saving email attachments
Steve, thanks again for helping. I tried to run secpol and the I got a
message like - program doesn't exist - nothing happens anyway! This is most
confusing to me as MS help also says to run secpol and I suspect it is part
of the OS so why won't it run, any clues?

Re: saving email attachments
If you have Windows Vista Home, I think its missing. Try Start | Search and
type msconfig and then go to Tools and see what you have there to play with.

Also, you can try taking ownership of the D drive and then setting
permissions on the whole drive.
