No attachment found and sent by Windows Mail

Sometimes, when trying to enclose a file as an attachment to a mail, I
receive the message that Windows Mail cannot find this file! After a while,
when trying again, this problem does not occure anymore.

Does anybody have an idea what the reason might be?

This typically happens when you have the file open in another
program, such as Word.

I am wondering why it is like this? Was that because of some reason intended
by Microsoft, or is that one of many Vista shortcomings? I never faced such
a problem using Ootlook Express under Win98!!!
I am asking myself: Can we call this a progress ;-)

Does anybody know it the problem can be eliminated, or do I have to close
each time a file I am just working on before sending it?

It is probably a side effect of the increased security present in Vista.
I'm pretty sure there is no way to get around the 'file closed' requirement.
