Re: Error Messages on windows email, cannot receive or send email
For the receive error, go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail account,
Properties, Servers. Make sure the box for "Log on using Secure
Password Authentication" is unchecked.
For the send error, what size is the attachment you are sending?
Do you get the same error when sending a short email without any
attachment?

Re: Error Messages on windows email, cannot receive or send email
Hi Gary and thank you for your quick responce. I unchecked the log on using
secure box. I am not sending a large email just a blank email to see if it
worked. now I donnot know if this means anything, but I have had roadrunner
for a while then got switched to comcast email, and I had not used this email
address since the change because I was using a server from work that was tied
into my laptop but I deleted that vpn network and was also using a yahoo.com
account. oh and my email with comcast actualy worked for a couple of minutes
enough to send me some eamils and I mailed myself a testing email and it went
through, but it quit working again.

Re: Error Messages on windows email, cannot receive or send email
I take it that receiving now works?
For the send problem, the next most likely cause is interference from
a non-compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.
If turning off the email scanning function does not resolve your problem,
consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to
suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus programs.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
