Problem with links in e-mail

I am having a problem. When I receive an e-mail that contains a link to
another site, when I click on the link I get a message stating that the
application can't be found. This happens on all e-mails, regardless of
sender.

Go to Default Programs, either on the start menu or in Control Panel, ensure
that WM & Internet Explorer have ALL their defaults set?
