Re: cannot send out mail
"IMAP" is not a valid mail server name. You get the correct mail server
names from your email service provider. If that is BT, see
http://www.btopenworld.com/faqs/manual_email_setup#pc

Note: the screens will look a little different because those instructions are
for Outlook Express, but you use the same settings in Windows Mail.

Re: cannot send out mail
Suggest you check the messages in your outbox and transfer them to another
folder. Then try and send each one individually until you find one that will
not go out.

Just delete that message and I think you'll be okay. I've found any message
that I send to multiple recipients and one address is wrong, it will not
allow
that message to be sent nor any subsequent messages..

Re: cannot send out mail
Your error message pertains to receiving, not sending.
That type of error is usually caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

If turning off your antivirus email scanning function does not resolve
your problem, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it
is less prone to suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus
programs: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm

If you have a separate send error, please post it.
